Weather Widget Image Distortion

September 19th, 2005

Not sure how or why this is happening, but lately I’ve had trouble with my weather widgets — either the Montréal one, or, this time, the Bremen one — wherein the background isn’t drawn properly. No other widget seems affected.

Weather Widget Image Distortion

Maybe 10.4.3 fixes this, maybe not; the bug isn’t a big deal (and a flip or a refresh fix it) and I’m too lazy to report it.

Odd nonetheless. Could this be related to me using nightly WebKit builds? Shouldn’t be, as those are installed locally, not system-wide. Curious.

have you ever tried to delete the widget preferences? You can find the file this way: user->library->preferences->widget-com.apple.widget.weather.plist delete it. aber den rechner neustartet bitte ;-)

I actually don’t have that OS X installation any more by now, due to hardware issues.

Since I was able to (temporarily) fix the distortion by refreshing (Cmd-R), I didn’t really much mind it; it was more of a curiosity. I haven’t heard of anyone else experiencing this.

Refreshing and deleting the preferences are two differnt things. I´ve got the same problem with an other widget called Translation. Posting in some differnt forums it didn´t but searching by myself it all comes to an end. (Oh, man, ich sollte mehr englische Bücher lesen, oder überhaupt welche, entschuldigung für schlechte Englich…) take a look
