Transmission: fast, cross-platform BitTorrent client

October 3rd, 2005

Transmission

From the guy who developed HandBrake, a DVD ripper known to many Mac OS X users, comes Transmission. Developed with efficiency in mind, it uses up much less CPU than others do for me, (especially the CPU-hungry Azureus). Comes with a CLI client and a nice (though very simple) Cocoa GUI; probably would compile on Cygwin/Windows, although it doesn’t claim to work on Windows at all.

Seems fast, and you have to dig the icon.

Wow, this is frickin’ FAST.

Much, MUCH better than Azuraus. The downlload ramped up so much quicker than it does normally. Great find, chucker – while I’m sure it can be added to, I hope it keeps the simple interface and the anti-bloat start up.

Leave the country the same, but correct the continent, and end the sentence with a period instead.
