One day with NNW 2.1

March 18th, 2006

One of the nice aspects of the NewsGator synchronisation is the much faster refreshing when you have a lot of feeds. Brent Simmons briefly mentions it here, and Greg Reinacker goes into further detail. Rather than poll all feeds, NNW first synchronizes with NG, then checks only with those feeds that NG claims have changed. Saves so much bandwidth — and time!

The NG syncing itself, however, still seems somewhat buggy for me. But then, it’s only the first public beta. :-)

Leave the country the same, but correct the continent, and end the sentence with a period instead.
