Blade Lakem: “There will be drama”
Uru doesn’t have more drama, it just has less of everything else.
I do think that’s part of the problem, but Blade is ignoring the powerful force of frustration: a lot of people would like for Uru to be a smashing success, but have lost faith that this is even possible any more at this point. Rationally, they should leave and move on, but instead, many let out their frustrations on each other.

Yeah, I thought Uru drama was bad. Then I read through some drama on other fan sites and realized it could be worse in some ways. People are just passionate about something they really care about. I try to avoid the drama ’cause I just don’t want a game to be something I get so worked up over. Hopefully MORE will be able to avoid too much drama but I have to say the situation makes me a bit nervous.

from mszv Part of the drama has to do with the Uru community being so small. Sometimes you get the feeling that everyone is supposed to think the same way, and of course they don\’t. In a big community, people can get away from each other – in a small community it\’s harder to do that. So, one subgroup tells another group what to do, or one person tells another person what to think, and it continues.
The other thing Blade Lakem touched on, but seemed to dismiss, is the fact that people settle down when you can play the game, City of Heroes, Uru, the game that is the reason the community is there. There is no Uru to play, so people have to find something to do. Debating issues( sometimes a bit heatedly) on the forums is something to do. Blade seems to think we should all be doing something else \”productive\”. My question – \”who says\”? That\’s so silly. You can\’t make people do what they don\’t want to do.
I actually think the community, for what it\’s worth, is in pretty good shape. I\’ve seen worse. When Uru comes back, people will have something else to talk about.
On why people don\’t walk away, even though so many people have – that\’s interesting. I see people leaving without saying they are leaving, all the time. There\’s a very active thread on Uru Obsession of ex Uru people happily playing Guild Wars. That\’s one example. I think other people stay because Uru keeps coming back. So, you get all ready to leave, you are done, goodbye, and then the thing returns.
I do think this is the last time for Uru – really. It\’s a different Uru, the Uru with fan content, with no new Cyan content, the Uru with more realistic expectations on what Cyan can do. It\’s a different Uru, more an experiment than anything else. We\’ll see what happens.
