There's been an ongoing kerfuffle over the .NET Foundation these past few days, and if this is the first time you've heard of the .NET Foundation in a while, or at all, you're not alone. I think that's precisely part of the problem: it hasn't made a great case for itself on what it's good for.

I haven't blogged in years. A big part is laziness and/or life getting in the way. Blogging has also (don't know if you've heard) fallen out of favor compared to the 2000s; social networks rose, as did "microblogging" on them.

Twitch had a major data breach, including some (all?) of the source code. One design flaw which may help explain the breach is that, while they've been migrating their user account password hashes from SHA-1 to bcrypt since 2015, you can still log in to an account using SHA-1, even if it has already been migrated, due to a logic error.
